This post will teach you how to make your own nail polish. I made a sheer teal nail polish and a silver glitter nail polish.
You will need:
- a paper towel
-eye shadow in the color you want your nail polish to be, glitter (optional)
-clear nail polish
- a paper funnel
-a toothpick
1. Place the paper towel wherever you are working because this can get pretty messy.
2. Open the bottle of clear nail polish, wipe to brush clean and set it aside
3. Take the paper funnel and place it on the opening of the bottle.
4. Grab your eye shadow, place it above the funnel, and start scraping the pigment into the funnel with a toothpick. The eye shadow pigment should go into the bottle pretty easily, but you can push it down with the toothpick if needed.
5. When you get the desirable amount of pigment, mix it with the clear polish with the toothpick. When it is done mixing, it should be a consistent, smooth color.
6. Twist the cap back on and it is finished!
If you want to make a glitter polish, repeat this process on either the same bottle of nail polish or a new one. This is a fun experiment that doesn't take a lot of time or effort. the nail polishes came out beautifully for me and I really like them. Click on the pictures below to view the swatches of the nail polishes that I made and a little description of each.
